From a number to a name with meaning.
Chonglun Junior High opened in 1961 as "Taichung Municipal 4th Junior High," one of the city's original postwar junior highs identified simply by number. It was renamed Chonglun — meaning roughly "upholding ethics" — in 1971, honoring Confucian values as South District's population grew. Now more than 60 years old, the school runs a sports-focused academic track alongside robotics and technology-competition programs.
