Chonglin Junior High began preparations in 1995 and welcomed its first class of students in 1998, growing alongside Linkou New Town's development into one of the district's most sought-after junior highs. The school has since been designated a "Character Education" (品德特色學校) flagship school, and in 2025 was also recognized as a "Life Education" (生命教育特色學校) flagship, alongside a silver certification as a Taiwan-US Eco-School.
崇林國中於民國84年（1995年）成立籌備處，並於民國87年（1998年）招收第一屆學生，隨著林口新市鎮的發展逐漸成長，成為區內廣受歡迎的國中之一。學校先後獲選為「品德特色學校」，並於2025年再獲頒「生命教育特色學校」殊榮，同時也取得台美生態學校銀牌認證。
