Beixin Junior High School

Beixin Junior High School opened in 1965 on the former campus of the private Zhicheng Middle School (志成中學). It became an independent public school the following year under the name "Sixth Junior High School" (第六國中), before taking its current name, Beixin, in 1971. With around 1,488 students today, the school is the only public junior high in Taichung City to have its own swimming pool, built in 1981, and has run special-education classes since 1986 alongside a skills-training track and a gifted-education resource program.

北新國中於民國54年（1965年）在原私立志成中學校地上創校。隔年獨立設校，初名「臺中市立第六國民中學」，民國60年（1971年）改為現名「北新國中」。目前全校約有1,488名學生，是全台中市唯一擁有專屬游泳池的公立國中（泳池建於民國70年／1981年），並自民國75年（1986年）起開設特殊教育班，另設有技藝訓練班與資優資源班。
