Beixin Elementary was established in 1988, at the height of a population boom that left Xindian's existing schools badly overcrowded. Its name, meaning "North Xindian," reflects its role serving the newer residential developments that had sprung up north of the district's historic town core. More than three decades later, the school remains a key part of the educational infrastructure for this part of Xindian.
北新國小創立於民國77年（1988年），正值新店人口暴增、既有學校校舍嚴重擁擠的年代。校名「北新」意指服務新店老城區以北新興開發地區的角色。歷經三十餘年，學校至今仍是這一帶重要的教育據點。
