Built with help from across the world.
Zhonghua Elementary School was founded in 1958, established during a period of disaster recovery connected to the 8-7 Flood, one of the most devastating natural disasters to strike central Taiwan in the postwar era. Funding for the school's founding came in part from donations by overseas Chinese communities, reflecting mid-century Taichung's ties to the global Chinese diaspora. The school relocated to its present site in 1992 and continues to serve families in North District today.
