南陽國小的歷史可追溯至明治31年(1898年)日治時期的語言研習會,是北港地區歷史最悠久的學校之一。學校於民國15年(1926年)遷至現址,如今設有特色藝術資優班,專攻繪畫、水彩、蝴蝶藝術、木工與陶藝。歷經百餘年歲月,學校在悠久的辦學歷史之外,也建立起培育藝術人才的良好聲譽。
