From a private study hall to a century-old school.
Beifeng Elementary School traces its origins to 1924, when it began as 社后書房, a traditional private study hall in the Shehou (社后) neighborhood — a direct link to the transition from Qing-era private schooling to modern public education in Xizhi. It became an independent public school in 1946 as Taipei County Beishan Elementary, taking its current name, Beifeng, in 1948. The school celebrated its 100th anniversary in May 2024, and has built a strong reputation in sports, including dodgeball and swimming, and canoeing — its canoe-sprint team was national champion from 2019 to 2021.
