Beida Elementary was approved in 2012 to serve the fast-growing Beida (Taipei University) Special District, reaching full enrollment by 2016. Before its own campus was ready, the school initially borrowed classrooms at nearby Longpu Elementary. Since moving into its permanent site in 2016, the school has partnered with the Fubon Foundation on a "Leader in Me" self-leadership education program (2017) and opened a nonprofit kindergarten and library (2018), reflecting its role as a modern anchor institution in a rapidly developing new town.
北大國小於民國101年（2012年）獲准籌設，以服務快速發展的北大特區，民國105年（2016年）達到全額招生。校舍完工前，學校初期借用鄰近龍埔國小的教室上課。自民國105年（2016年）遷入正式校區後，學校與富邦文教基金會合作推動「7 Habits／Leader in Me」自我領導力教育（2017年），並於2018年開辦非營利幼兒園與圖書館，展現其作為新興城鎮現代教育機構的角色。
