Baisha Elementary School

Baisha Elementary began as a branch classroom in 1922, funded in part by local benefactor Huang Xu, who donated land for the school building during the Japanese colonial era. It became an independent school in 1930 as Baisha-keng Public School, was reorganized several times, and took its current name in 1968. A government grant of over NT$120 million funded a complete rebuild of the campus starting in 1999, finished in 2004, with a new sports field and courts added in 2014. Today the school is a certified green building near the western side of the Baguashan mountain range, and owls are known to make their home on campus.

白沙國小創校於民國11年（1922年），最初為分教場，由地方仕紳黃旭捐地建校。民國19年（1930年）獨立設校，定名「白沙坑公學校」，歷經多次改制，於民國57年（1968年）定名為現今校名。民國88年（1999年）獲政府補助逾一億二千萬元進行全面重建，於民國93年（2004年）完工，並於民國103年（2014年）增建新運動場地與球場。如今學校是綠建築認證校園，座落於八卦山山脈西側，貓頭鷹亦在校園中棲息安家。
