The school that gave its name to a neighborhood.
Xinzhuang Elementary School's roots trace to 1951, when it began as a branch campus of Dingjin National School. It was reorganized the following year as a branch of Jiucheng National School, before becoming a fully independent school in August 1954. It was renamed in 1968. The school later gave rise to its own branch campus in 1984, which became independent as Xinmin Elementary School in 1985 — continuing a local tradition of schools splitting to serve Zuoying's growing "Xinzhuang" neighborhood, whose name is also shared by nearby Hsin Chuang Senior High School.

A neighborhood's name, worn by three schools.
The "Xinzhuang" name — shared by this elementary school, its own offshoot Xinmin Elementary, and nearby Hsin Chuang Senior High — marks the "new village" sub-area of Zuoying, a growing residential pocket distinct from the district's older naval-town core.
