Ziguan Junior High School began in September 1960 as a branch campus of Kaohsiung County's Gangshan Junior High School. It became independent in 1966 under its first principal, Zhang Guanghai, and took its current name in 1968. In 1973, the school established its own branch campus in neighboring Mituo District, which became independent as Mituo Junior High School in 1975 — making Ziguan Junior High the parent institution for two generations of local secondary schools.
梓官國中創立於民國49年（1960年）9月，最初為高雄縣立岡山初級中學梓官分部。民國55年（1966年）獨立設校，首任校長為張光海，民國57年（1968年）定名為現名。民國62年（1973年）於鄰近的彌陀區設立分校，民國64年（1975年）獨立為彌陀國中——使梓官國中成為兩代地方中學共同的母體學校。
