A century that began inside a temple.
Zhuwei Elementary was founded on April 1, 1921, as a teaching branch of Dayuan Public School, with classes meeting inside the local Fuhai Temple (福海宮) before its own school building was completed the following year. The school was upgraded to Zhuwei Public School in 1928, and renamed Zhuwei National School after Taiwan's 1945 retrocession. With over a century of history, its story traces directly back to Dayuan's original Japanese-era public school system.
