The historical heart of Zhushan's education legacy.
Zhushan Elementary was founded on May 21, 1899, as Linpipu (林圮埔) Public School — one of the oldest schools in the region, named for Zhushan's old Qing-era town name Linpipu. The school was renamed Zhushan Public School in 1920, taking on the name of the township that has endured to this day. Its campus was rebuilt after the devastating 1999 921 earthquake with support from the Tzu Chi Foundation's Hope Project, continuing more than a century of continuous educational service at the heart of the old walled town.
