Zhunan Elementary School was founded in 1898 during the Japanese colonial era, originally as the 'Hsinchu Japanese Language Training Institute Zhonggang Branch,' before being renamed Zhunan Elementary School in 1968. With over 125 years of history, the school is renowned for its music program: its choir and children's orchestra have repeatedly won top honors in Taiwan-region music competitions, supported by a gifted music class established in 1992. The school sits at the junction of Miaoli's northern mountains and coastline.
竹南國小創立於明治31年(1898年)日治時期,初名「新竹日語傳習所中港分教場」,民國57年(1968年)改名為竹南國民小學,至今已有逾125年校史。學校以音樂教育聞名,合唱團與兒童管絃樂團多次在全國音樂比賽中榮獲佳績,並自民國81年(1992年)起設立音樂資優班。學校地處苗栗縣北部山區與海岸線交會處。
