Zhongzhou Elementary opened in 1921 as a satellite classroom of Xuejia Public School, becoming independent as Zhongzhou Public School in 1926 under its first (Japanese) principal, Suenaga Takeshi. It celebrated its centennial in the early 2020s. Today it is a small school of roughly 85 students, serving Guanghua and Zhongzhou villages, and runs bilingual-education and environmental, disaster-prevention, and gender-equality curricula.
中洲國小於民國10年（1921年）以學甲公學校分教場之姿設立，民國15年（1926年）獨立設校為中洲公學校，首任（日籍）校長為末永猛。學校於2020年代初舉辦建校百週年慶祝活動。如今是僅約85名學生的小校，服務光華、中洲兩里，並推動雙語教育手冊及環境、防災、性別平等課程。

Founded in 1921 as a satellite classroom of Xuejia Public School, Zhongzhou celebrated its 100th anniversary in the early 2020s — one of the older schools on Xuejia's rural plain.

Zhongzhou sits on the milkfish-farming plain outside Xuejia proper, serving Guanghua and Zhongzhou villages. Its centennial alumni honors trace directly back to the 'Tainan Gang' (台南幫), the influential business dynasty that grew out of this farming district and went on to shape major Taiwanese industry.
