Zhongyun Elementary was founded in 1944 under Japanese rule as a branch classroom of Linyuan National School (林園國民學校中芸分教場), becoming Kaohsiung County Zhongyun National School in 1946. It later added a kindergarten in 1988, and sits in the same coastal Zhongyun community as its neighboring junior high.
中芸國小創立於民國33年(1944年)日治時期,原為「林園國民學校中芸分教場」,民國35年(1946年)更名為「高雄縣中芸國民學校」。民國77年(1988年)附設幼兒園,與鄰近的中芸國中同處於中芸沿海社區。
