An open-campus school named for a housing complex.
Zhonglun Junior High takes its name from the Zhonglun public-housing complex, built on land once farmed by the Taiwan Sugar Corporation. Its campus, designed around an "open space" concept, won an architecture award in 2001, suggesting the school was built in the late 1990s. Today it remains one of Fongshan's smaller junior highs, sitting just across Fongshan Creek from the Chung Cheng Armed Forces Preparatory School, with around six classes and roughly 144 students as of 2024.

From sugarcane fields to public housing.
Zhonglun (中崙) is named for the public-housing complex built on land once cultivated by the Taiwan Sugar Corporation — a common pattern across Taiwan as former agricultural land was converted into state-planned housing communities in the postwar decades. See the Kaohsiung county page for more on the region.
