Built for a brand-new neighborhood.
Zhonglun Elementary was approved for establishment in 1996 and completed its campus in 1998. It was built specifically to serve the newly constructed Zhonglun public-housing community, on a district that had formerly been farmed by the Taiwan Sugar Corporation as sugarcane fields — a direct embodiment of the transformation of agricultural land into state-planned housing that reshaped much of postwar Fongshan.

🏘️ Built for a New Housing Community
為新建國宅社區而設
The school was purpose-built to serve the newly constructed Zhonglun public-housing community, opening its campus in 1998.
🌾 From Sugarcane Fields to Classrooms
前身為台糖甘蔗田
The district was formerly Taiwan Sugar Corporation farmland, and Zhonglun Elementary now stands where sugarcane once grew.
🏫 A Late-1990s Campus
1990年代末新建校舍
Approved in 1996 and completed in 1998, Zhonglun's campus reflects the newer wave of school construction that accompanied Fongshan's suburban expansion.
From sugar economy to housing estate.
Zhonglun Elementary embodies the transformation of Taiwan Sugar Corporation agricultural land into state-planned public housing — a pattern repeated across many parts of postwar Taiwan as sugar-industry farmland gave way to urban development. See the Kaohsiung county page for more on the region.
