Zhongliao Junior High School

Zhongliao Junior High serves as the township's main junior high school, likely founded around 1968 though the exact date is not firmly documented. Like much of Zhongliao, the campus suffered major damage in the 1999 921 earthquake and was rebuilt with support from the Tzu Chi Foundation's Hope Project. Today the school hosts a 'Jing Si Quiet Reading' bookstore, a legacy of that partnership, and has built a strong record in the junior-high competency test alongside activities like an English board-game club.

中寮國中是中寮鄉主要的國中，創校時間可能約在民國57年（1968年）左右，但確切年代尚待考證。與中寮鄉許多校舍相同，校園在民國88年（1999年）921大地震中嚴重受損，後由慈濟基金會「希望工程」援建重生。如今校內設有「靜思書軒」，是這段援建合作留下的印記，學校在國中會考表現亮眼，並設有英語桌遊社等活動。
