Guangfu Elementary began in August 1966 as a branch class of Zhongliao Elementary School, becoming independent on September 9, 1969. Damaged in the 1999 921 earthquake, the school was rebuilt with support from the Yiguandao Foundation, with reconstruction completed on June 17, 2001. In the years since, Guangfu has earned multiple awards in environmental and energy education, building a reputation disproportionate to its small size.
廣福國小於民國55年（1966年）8月以中寮國小分班形式設立，民國58年（1969年）9月9日獨立設校。學校在民國88年（1999年）921大地震中受損，後由一貫道基金會援建重建，於民國90年（2001年）6月17日完工。多年來，廣福國小在環境教育與能源教育方面屢獲獎項，展現出小校也能有大成就的實力。

Like several of its neighboring Zhongliao schools, Guangfu Elementary's post-921 rebuild by a religious charitable foundation reflects the wave of community-driven reconstruction that defined the longan- and honey-farming township after the 1999 earthquake.
