From a Japanese-era girls' school to an NCU-affiliated high school.

Founded in 1940 under Japanese rule as the Zhongli Girls' Home Economics School, this school has been renamed and reorganized many times over its 86-year history — from a county junior middle school in 1945, through provincial and national governance, to its current status as a school formally affiliated with National Central University since October 2013. Its campus, covering 8.88 hectares in the heart of Zhongli, was built on the former site of the Japanese-era Zhongli Shinto Shrine. Today the school enrolls roughly 2,100 students under the motto "盡忠尚義,耐勞崇禮" (loyalty, righteousness, diligence, and propriety).
