A campus that moved with the changing city.
Zhonghua Elementary was founded on August 1, 1958, with its original campus on Linsen Road in downtown Hualien City — a site that today has become the city's Citizens Plaza. After Typhoon Ofelia damaged the campus and enrollment in the area declined, the school relocated to its current site on October 30, 1993. It later added a dedicated PE class track in 2008, rounding out its sports facilities for the community it now serves.
