Zhaoxiang Elementary opened on April 1, 1949, originally as the "Air Force Gangshan Servicemen's Children's School," serving the families of the nearby Air Force base. The school is named in memory of Air Force martyr Wang Zhaoxiang, making it the only elementary school in Gangshan District named after a person. Since 2014, a decommissioned AT-3 training aircraft has been displayed on campus, a visible reminder of the school's origins.
兆湘國小創立於民國38年（1949年）4月1日，最初名為「空軍岡山子弟學校」，服務鄰近空軍基地眷屬子弟。學校為紀念空軍烈士王兆湘而命名，是岡山區唯一以人名命名的國小。自民國103年（2014年）起，校園內展示一架除役的AT-3教練機，見證學校的空軍淵源。
