Five villages, one school, nearly a century.

Changzhi Junior High traces its founding to April 1, 1937, when five villages led by Changxing Village head Qiu Runkuan jointly established the Pingtung Agricultural Specialized School. The school was renamed several times through Taiwan's changing eras — becoming Pingtung Junior High School under Kaohsiung County in 1945, then Pingtung City's Second Junior High School in 1946, and Changzhi Junior High School under Pingtung County in 1950. It became a complete middle/high school in 1957, before taking its current name in 1968 with the nationwide implementation of nine-year compulsory education.
