Daxi Junior High School

Daxi Junior High was established in 1972, approved initially as the "Zaoqiao Junior High Daxi Branch." The school was founded because Zaoqiao Township's terrain stretches wide from east to west, making the daily commute from the Daping area to Zaoqiao's town center impractical for students. Construction of the first campus buildings began in August 1973, and the branch later became an independent junior high school in its own right, giving Zaoqiao's eastern hill communities a school of their own.

大西國中創校於1972年（民國61年），最初核准設立為「造橋國中大西分部」。設校原因在於造橋鄉地形東西狹長，大坪地區學生若要通勤至造橋市區上學相當不便。首批校舍建築於1973年8月開工興建，其後分部升格獨立設校，讓造橋鄉東側丘陵地區的學子擁有屬於自己的國中。
