Tainan Yujing Elementary School

Yujing Elementary School traces its roots to January 12, 1906, when it was established as the six-year “Tapani Public School” (噍吧哖公學校); classes began that April 2 in a borrowed local temple. Its origins stretch back further still, to a 1898 opening ceremony for a National Language Practice Institute branch in the Tapani area. The school was renamed several times through the 20th century — “Yujing Public School” in 1921, then through further renamings until it became “Yujing Elementary School” in 1968 under nine-year compulsory education. Designated a model school by the former Tainan County Government in 1958, it today serves about 405 students across 25 classes, including special education, with 48 teachers and 17 staff drawing from eight villages across Yujing District.

玉井國小創校於明治39年（1906年）1月12日，初設六年制「噍吧哖公學校」，同年4月2日借用地方廟宇開學上課，校史更可追溯至1898年噍吧哖地區「國語傳習所」分教場的開設典禮。歷經多次更名：1921年改稱「玉井公學校」，1941年「玉井西國民學校」，1946年「玉井鄉第一國民學校」，1947年「玉井國民學校」，1968年九年國教實施後定名「玉井國民小學」。1958年獲前台南縣政府評選為示範學校。現有學生約405人（含幼兒園）、25班（含特教班），教師48人、職員17人，學區涵蓋玉井區八個里。
