Yudong Junior High School

Yudong Junior High was founded in 1968 on land donated by local notable Xiao Yin-cai, and today it is nationally famous for a single, remarkable program: student woodworking. Started in 2008 by teacher Wang Chia-na, a two-time gold medalist in international skills competitions, the class has grown far beyond a standard shop elective. Students design and build genuine furniture that blends modern craftsmanship with Indigenous — largely Amis — artistic motifs, and their work has been exhibited at Huashan 1914 Creative Park, one of Taipei's leading arts and culture venues.

玉東國中創立於民國57年（1968年），校地由地方仕紳蕭應財捐贈。如今學校以一項特色課程聞名全台——木工班。木工班於民國97年（2008年）由曾兩度榮獲國際技能競賽金牌的王嘉納老師創立，早已超越一般工藝選修課的規模。學生設計並親手打造真正的家具作品，融合現代工藝與原住民（多為阿美族）藝術圖騰，作品曾於台北華山1914文化創意產業園區展出。
