Wucheng Elementary School

Wucheng Elementary School traces its roots to a 1936 Mandarin-language study hall, becoming an independent school in 1946. The school was destroyed by the devastating 1959 "8/7 Flood" and rebuilt on its current site. New school buildings were completed in 2017 to mark its 70th anniversary as an independent school. Located just north of Mingtan near Sun Moon Lake, the school's rebuilt campus reflects the resilience of small Yuchi villages that have weathered both flood and modernization while staying close to the lake's shores.

五城國小的歷史可追溯至1936年（民國25年）的國語講習所，1946年正式獨立設校。學校在1959年的「八七水災」中遭到摧毀，後於現址重建。2017年為慶祝獨立設校70週年，完工啟用新校舍。校址位於明潭以北、鄰近日月潭，重建後的校園見證著魚池鄉小型村落在歷經水災與現代化衝擊後，依然緊鄰湖畔屹立不搖的韌性。
