From a temple classroom to a lasting legacy.
Yuanshan Elementary School's story begins on February 8, 1912, when it was approved as a branch of Yilan Public School and first held classes inside the Sanshan Guowang Temple. It became fully independent and relocated in 1955, after its original site was requisitioned for a militia training camp — a disruption the school weathered while continuing to serve the community. Today the school carries the branding "Love and Hope" (愛與希望), a phrase that captures its long-standing commitment to its students.
