A 90-year lineage, from agricultural school to comprehensive high.
Yuanli Senior High School traces its roots back to 1932, when it was established under Japanese rule as Shinchiku Prefecture Yuanli Agricultural Vocational School. Over more than nine decades it has passed through multiple name and status changes, reflecting the shifting shape of Taiwan's education system across the late colonial period and the postwar decades. It became a comprehensive senior high school — with both an academic and a vocational track, plus a junior-high division — in 1997, and was further reorganized as a regular senior high with vocational programs and a junior-high division in 2019.
Note: Yuanli Senior High School (苗栗縣立苑裡高級中學, this page) is a separate institution from the similarly named "National Yuanli Senior High School" (ylsh.mlc.edu.tw) — the two should not be confused.
