A young school with an old village name.
Kezhuang Elementary School — its name literally means "Hakka Village Elementary" — was formally established in 2000, following a preparatory branch phase that began in 1998. It is one of the larger schools among Yuanli's elementary campuses, with about 24 classes and 564 students. The school runs an unusually wide range of clubs, spanning Hoklo-Taiwanese language instruction, a Taiwanese folk-song troupe, a dragon dance team, baseball, chess, Chinese orchestra, hip-hop, and calligraphy.
