Independence born from community advocacy.
Yuanchong Elementary began as a branch school of neighboring Lumen Elementary School, becoming independent in 1960 after local residents advocated for it. The campus sits at the entrance of the former Wanqiao (灣橋) station on the now-demolished section of the Alishan Forest Railway, and the school maintains a forest-railway history room to preserve this heritage. Its programs today include recorder ensemble, English storytelling, robotics and coding, and a bilingual reading initiative.
圓崇國小原為鄰近鹿滿國小的分校，因地方仕紳奔走爭取，於民國49年（1960年）獨立設校。校址位於已拆除的阿里山森林鐵路灣橋車站入口處，學校並設有林鐵相關校史文史室，保存這段鐵道記憶。目前推動直笛合奏、英語說故事、機器人與程式設計（Webduino、Scratch），以及雙語閱讀等多元課程。
