Yongkang Elementary School

Established on March 10, 1909, Yongkang Elementary is the oldest school in the district by a wide margin — over 115 years old. It was founded as "埔姜頭公學校" (Puchiangtou Public School), initially operating out of borrowed space at Baosheng Temple with just 110 students in two classes and a Japanese principal, Nakada Asada. The school expanded to a full six-year curriculum in 1913, moved to its present campus in 1932, and was renamed "Yongkang National School" in 1941 as the district itself took the Yongkang name. Today the school runs a dedicated fine-arts class (美術班) and participates in the Taiwan-US Eco-Schools program.

永康國小創立於1909年3月10日，是永康區歷史最悠久的學校，校齡逾115年。創校初名「埔姜頭公學校」，最初借用保生宮辦學，僅110名學生、兩個班級，首任校長為日籍的中田淺田。1913年擴為六年制完整學制，1932年遷至現址，1941年隨永康地名確立而更名為「永康國民學校」。學校現設有美術班，並參與台美生態學校計畫。
