A school reborn under its traditional name.

Yongfeng Elementary began in 1948 as a branch of Fuli Elementary, became a full branch campus in 1953, gained independence in 1956, and took its present name in 1968. In 2021, the school underwent a meaningful transformation: it was formally reorganized as Hualien County's third Amis Indigenous experimental elementary school, adopting the traditional place name "Cilamitay" for its new identity — the Cilamitay Amis Experimental Elementary School. Cilamitay is a well-known Amis settlement recognized for its terraced rice paddies and organic farming practices, and the school's renaming reflects a broader effort in Taiwan to restore Indigenous place names and curricula to public education.
