Yizhu Junior High began as a branch of Shueishang Junior High in March 1963, became an independent school on December 31, 1963 under its first principal, Yang Ching-ming, and took its current name in 1968 under the nine-year compulsory education reform. Guided by the motto "Sustainable Humanities, Technological Innovation, Bilingual International," the school offers sports classes and art-talent classes in music and visual arts, runs a library reading initiative called "Reading Together," and uses digital learning platforms including AILEAD365 and Cool English.
