Yizhu Elementary School

Yizhu Elementary was established on March 31, 1915, as a branch teaching site of Yanshuigang Public School, opening that April with two classes on a four-year curriculum. It became independent in March 1919, was renamed several times through the Japanese colonial era and after 1945, and took its current name in 1968 under the nine-year compulsory education reform — making it one of the oldest schools in Yizhu Township at over 110 years old. Today the school uses Classting, Office 365, and Google Workspace for Education for digital learning, has its own kindergarten division, and won third place nationally at the 66th National Science Exhibition.

義竹國小創立於大正4年（1915年）3月31日，最初為鹽水港公學校義竹圍分校（分教場），同年4月21日開學，設2班、四年制課程。民國8年（1919年）3月獨立設校，歷經日治時期及1945年後多次更名，並於民國57年（1968年）九年國教改制後定名為現名，是義竹鄉歷史逾110年的老校之一。學校目前使用Classting、Office 365及Google Workspace for Education進行數位學習，並設有附設幼兒園，曾於第66屆全國科展中榮獲全國第三名。
