Yizai Elementary School

Yizai Elementary took its name — a reference to the nearby historic fort "億載金城" — after discussion among the founding principal, local community leaders, borough chiefs, and city councilors. The school is a designated Green School, incorporating solar power, constructed wetlands, and greywater recycling into its campus design, and its gate deliberately echoes the architecture of Anping Fort and Fort Zeelandia (安平古堡), with teaching buildings modeled on the traditional courtyard-house layout of old Anping fishing settlements. Its affiliated Yuguang branch campus began as a single class in 1975 before becoming a full branch in 1977.

億載國小之校名，是由創校校長與地方仕紳、里長、市議員共同討論後，取自鄰近的古砲台「億載金城」而來。學校獲認證為「綠色學校」，校園規劃納入太陽能發電、人工濕地與中水回收系統；校門設計刻意仿效安平古堡與熱蘭遮城的建築意象，教學樓群則仿照安平舊漁村的三合院配置。附設的漁光分校前身，是1975年南區龍崗國小的一個班級，1977年才正式成為分校。
