營盤國小創立於民國10年（1921年）4月24日，前身為「營盤口公學校」，創校用地由地方七將軍廟社群捐贈，展現學校與地方信仰社群的深厚淵源。民國88年（1999年）921大地震摧毀校舍，重建時採用「田園教學」設計理念，將農園與戶外學習空間融入校園規劃之中。
