Yangming Senior High School

Yangming Senior High School was established in 1968 as a junior high school, one of four new junior highs created in the Yangmingshan area by the Yangmingshan Management Bureau under President Chiang Kai-shek's nine-year compulsory education policy. Groundbreaking took place on May 6, 1968, with the school formally established on August 1 that year. The school was originally slated to be named "Bailing," then "Zhongzheng," but Chiang personally renamed it "Yangming" in honor of Ming-dynasty philosopher Wang Yangming and his teaching of "the unity of knowledge and action" (知行合一) — a philosophy still reflected in the school's motto, "誠敬知行" (sincerity, respect, knowledge, action). The school was upgraded to a full senior/complete high school in 1994.

陽明高中創立於民國57年（1968年），最初為國中，是陽明山管理局依蔣中正總統九年國教政策於陽明山地區新設的四所國中之一。同年5月6日動土，8月1日正式成立。校名原擬定為「百齡」，後又改為「中正」，最終由蔣中正總統親自改定為「陽明」，以紀念明代哲學家王陽明「知行合一」的思想，此精神至今仍體現於校訓「誠敬知行」之中。民國83年（1994年）升格為完全中學。
