From county high school to municipal campus.
Yangmei Senior High School opened in August 1948 as the senior division of the former Taoyuan County Yangmei Middle School. It became a provincial senior high in 1968 when nine-year compulsory education split junior and senior divisions apart, was elevated to national status in 2000, and was transferred to Taoyuan City's municipal system in January 2018. Since the 2019 school year it has operated as a general senior high with attached vocational departments — one of only a few such schools in the city.
楊梅高中創立於民國37年（1948年）8月，前身為桃園縣立楊梅中學高中部。民國57年（1968年）九年國教實施後改制為省立楊梅高級中學；民國89年（2000年）2月升格為國立楊梅高級中學；民國107年（2018年）1月改隸桃園市，成為市立楊梅高級中等學校。自108學年度起改制為「普通高中附設職業類科」，是桃園市少數採此學制的市立高中之一。
