Yanchao Elementary School

Yanchao Elementary dates back to 1914, opening during the Japanese colonial era as a teaching site of Nanzikeng Public School. It became independent in 1918 and was renamed several times over the following decades, taking its present name in 1968. As one of the oldest schools in the district, Yanchao Elementary served as the "mother school" for both Jinshan Elementary and Anzhao Elementary, each of which began as one of its branch campuses before becoming independent. Today it is the largest elementary school in the district, with around 38 classes and 1,094 students, including a branch campus.

燕巢國小創立於1914年（大正3年，日治時期），初為「楠梓坑公學校援巢中分教場」，1918年獨立設校，其後歷經多次更名，於民國57年（1968年）定名至今。作為區內歷史最悠久的學校之一，燕巢國小是金山國小與安招國小的「母校」——這兩校最初皆為其分校，後才獨立設校。目前全校（含分校）約38班、1,094名學生，是區內規模最大的國小。
