Born inside the halls of the Cixi Temple.
Xuejia Elementary was founded in 1906 as Xuejia Public School, with its earliest classes literally borrowed from the side halls of the Xuejia Cixi Temple before a purpose-built campus existed. The school moved to its present site in 1940, following the 1937 Xuejia urban-planning relocation. Over 110 years old, it is the oldest school in the district.

🚶 A Move Tied to the Town's Growth
1940年遷至現址
The school relocated to its present site in 1940 as part of the 1937 Xuejia urban-planning relocation, tracking the growth of the town itself.
No school closer to the Cixi Temple pilgrimage.
No school in Xuejia District is more directly tied to the Cixi Temple pilgrimage culture than this one — it was literally born inside the temple's own halls before Xuejia had a school building to call its own. Even after its 1940 move to a purpose-built campus, that origin remains part of the school's identity. See the Tainan county page for more on the region.
