Xiuluan Elementary School

Xiuluan Elementary is the largest elementary school in the "back mountain" (後山) area of Jianshi Township, an especially remote stretch of the county's largest and most mountainous district. Its school district spans five Atayal tribal settlements — Taikang, Jinlu, Yanglao, Kongxi, and Tianpu — a vast catchment area typical of schools serving Jianshi's dispersed mountain communities. To reach students in the more outlying settlements, the school operates a separate Tianpu Branch campus, ensuring that even the most far-flung children have a school within reach.

秀巒國小是尖石鄉「後山」地區規模最大的國小，服務新竹縣境內最大、地形最崎嶇鄉鎮中格外偏遠的一角。學區涵蓋泰崗、鎮西堡、養老、控溪、田埔等五個泰雅族部落，範圍之廣，正是尖石鄉分散山區學校的典型寫照。為讓更偏遠部落的孩子也能就近上學，學校另設有田埔分班，確保即使是最遙遠聚落的學童，也能觸及教育資源。
