Xipu Junior High School began in 1976 as a branch campus of Dashu Junior High School (溪埔分部), established to serve the Xipu area along the Gaoping River. The exact date of its full independence is not recorded, but the school has since operated on its own, serving students from the low-lying floodplain communities that give the area its name. Its campus includes a covered, windproof basketball court.
溪埔國中源自1976年（民國65年）大樹國中設立的溪埔分部，設校服務高屏溪沿岸的溪埔地區。確切獨立設校的年份並無明確記載，但學校其後即以獨立學校身分運作，服務這片因地勢低窪而得名的河埔聚落。校內設有具擋風功能的室內籃球場。
