Xinying Elementary School

Xinying Elementary was founded March 31, 1917, as the 'Xinying branch' of Zhamuying Public School, with a new school building completed in 1918. It became fully independent in April 1920 as 'Xinying Public School,' added an advanced-course track in 1922, and was renamed 'Xinying East National School' in 1941. Over a century old, it is the oldest elementary school in Xinying District, sited on Zhongzheng Road near the historic town center by the Xinying rail station area.

新營國小創立於大正6年（1917年）3月31日，前身為查畝營公學校新營分教場，民國7年（1918年）新校舍落成，民國9年（1920年）4月完全獨立設校為新營公學校，民國11年（1922年）增設高等科，民國30年（1941年）更名新營東國民學校。學校歷史逾百年，是新營區歷史最悠久的國小，位於中正路，鄰近歷史悠久的新營火車站市區。
