Xinwu Elementary School

Xinwu Elementary is the first school established in Xinwu District, approved on October 10, 1905, as a branch of Yangmei Public School. Classes initially borrowed space in the Jiudou Wugu Temple before moving to the school's current site the following year. The school was founded at the urging of local Hakka gentry leader Fan Jiang-teng (范姜藤), who saw local children struggling with the long trek to school in neighboring Yangmei. Now with roughly 120 years of history, the school celebrated its 120th anniversary with an event attended by the Taoyuan mayor, embodying Xinwu's transformation from a scattering of Hakka farming hamlets into an organized rural township with its own educational infrastructure.

新屋國小是新屋區設立的第一所學校，於1905年（明治38年，民前七年）10月10日核准設立，最初為楊梅公學校的分校。開學之初，課程借用九斗五穀廟上課，隔年才遷至現址。學校的創立源於地方客家仕紳范姜藤的奔走倡議，他有感於當地孩童須長途跋涉至楊梅上學之苦，因而催生了這所學校。如今學校已有約120年校史，120週年校慶更由桃園市長親自出席，見證了新屋從零散的客家農村聚落轉變為擁有完整教育體系的鄉鎮之歷程。
