Xintai Elementary was founded in August 2000, one of the newer schools in the district, and built its identity around English-language teaching from its founding. It developed a signature curriculum weaving together Xinying's sugar-industry and railway heritage, winning the Ministry of Education's 'Campus Aesthetics and Featured School' award twice.
