Over a century old, with an art program of its own.
Xinshe Elementary opened on April 1, 1916, as a branch of Shulingtou Public School, giving it more than a century of continuous history. Since 1985, the school has been home to the only elementary art-talent class in Hsinchu County, a distinction that has shaped its identity ever since. The school regularly co-hosts joint graduation art exhibitions with the art program at nearby Chu-Pei Junior High, giving students a showcase that spans elementary and secondary education.
