Hsinchu County's oldest school.
Hsinpu Elementary is the oldest school in Hsinchu County's recorded history, founded in 1898 during the Japanese colonial era as a Japanese-language training branch before becoming Xinpu Public School that same year. Classes were originally held at the Wenchang Temple, before the school moved to its present site in 1902. Over more than a century, it has been renamed several times, evolving alongside the town it serves.
