From a gentry's land donation to 78 graduating classes.
Xinpi Elementary began in 1947 as a branch of Taibao Elementary School, becoming independent on August 1, 1948, and was renamed Xinpi Elementary School in 1968 under the nine-year compulsory education reform. Its initial campus of 0.7949 hectares was donated by local gentry Xu Shilai; the school has since grown to 2.2815 hectares following a 2005 land purchase. Starting with just 7 classes, 350 students, and 11 teachers, enrollment peaked at 21 classes and 1,130 students with 26 teachers in the mid-1960s. The school earned a top ('特優') honor in the 114th academic year health-promotion program and has a strong record in writing, recitation, speech, drawing, English listening, and dance competitions, celebrating its 78th graduation ceremony in 2026.

A history that mirrors rural Chiayi's changes.
Founded through a local gentry donation to serve the Xinpi farming settlement of Taibao, Xinpi Elementary's history of enrollment rising to a thousand-plus students and later settling smaller mirrors broader rural depopulation trends seen across many of Chiayi County's agricultural townships.
